Trent School of the Environment - Trent University - Dr. Magda Havas (RETIRED)
Dr. Magda Havas is dedicated to the study of electromagnetic fields (EMF) and electromagnetic radiation (EMR).
Dr. Havas does research on the biological effects of non-ionizing frequencies in the electromagnetic spectrum. This includes extremely low frequency (ELF) EMFs; intermediate frequencies (IF) commonly referred to as dirty electricity; radio frequency and microwave radiation (EMR); infrared radiation (IR); and light frequencies including ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Dr. Havas has worked with human subjects and have also studied the effects of various frequencies on plants, bees, farm animals, and microbes.
Dr. Havas received her Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, completed Post-Doctoral research at Cornell University, and taught at both the University of Toronto and Trent University in Peterborough, Canada. The focus of her early research was on chemical contaminants (air pollution in the form of acid rain and water quality) and their effects on human health and on the environment. In the mid 1990s, she became interested in the biological effects of electromagnetic pollution (electrosmog) and began to work with people who had electrohypersensitivity (EHS), which is an intolerance of various electromagnetic frequencies commonly found in the environment generated by anthropogenic sources.
Dr. Havas’s research at Trent is a blend of historical studies (see Zory’s Archives) and current research from around the world related to electrosmog. She is particularly interested in determining how to objectively diagnose EHS and to provide this information to doctors and others in the health care professions. Dr. Havas is also interested in helping those with EHS begin to recover and improve their health. Her ultimate aim is to provide information to the public and to professionals in other fields of research about the harmful effects of electrosmog at levels currently experienced in the environment. Dr. Havas is particularly concerned about exposure of pregnant women and children. Our use of wireless technology is not going to stop and it is essential that each and everyone of us learns how to use it as safely as possible. It is also essential that governments regulate this industry and related industries to protect public health and the health of the environment. We all need to make informed decisions on how to use modern electromagnetic technology effectively and safely. Dr. Mavas tries to simplify this complicated science for her university students, and here present it worldwide to the layperson and professional in a format that is easy to comprehend.
While this website is focused on the harmful effects of electrosmog, a related website (www.theroselab.com) provides information about the beneficial effects of electromagnetic therapies. Dr. Mavas believes that we are now entering a new paradigm in healthcare where light and magnetic fields that emulate nature can be used as complementary therapies to successfully treat a wide variety of serious chronic health conditions – free of unwanted side effects. We are electromagnetic beings or, as some would say, “beings of light.” Consequently we respond to external sources of electromagnetic frequencies in a variety of ways that can be either beneficial or harmful.
Magda Havas began research on acid rain and metal pollution in 1975 and worked at the Smoking Hills in the Canadian arctic, in Ontario near the INCO and Falconbridge metal smelters, and at Hubbard Brook in New Hampshire. She was Science Advisor to the Canadian Coalition on Acid Rain and her research (and that of others) helped bring in clean air legislation (Eastern Canadian Acid Rain Program) in 1985 that reduced sulphur dioxide emissions by 30% and lead to improvements in air and water quality and ultimately resulted in the recovery of lakes, which she also studied. Her paper “Red Herrings in Acid Rain Research” confronted the misconceptions that were being perpetrated about acid rain and its effects.
Electrosmog and Electrosensitivity
High Voltage Transmission Lines
Power Lines
Dr. Havas’s research since the 1990s is concerned with the biological effects of electromagnetic pollution including radio frequency radiation, electromagnetic fields, dirty electricity, and ground current. She works with diabetics as well as with individuals who have multiple sclerosis, tinnitus, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and those who are electrically hypersensitive. She also conducts research on sick building syndrome as it relates to power quality in schools.
University Course on Electrosmog and ElectroHyperSensitivity
Since the mid 1990s Dr. Havas has taught about electromagnetic pollution in several courses at Trent University and has supervised Reading Courses and Honours Thesis Projects in this area. One of the courses deals specifically with the biological effects of electromagnetic fields and electromagnetic radiation. This is one of the few courses available in North America at a senior undergraduate level critically examining the effects of non-ionizing radiation.
Science & Policy
Dr. Havas helped draft Resolution 15 that was passed by the International Association of Firefighters in August 2004 in Boston. She also helped draft a Ground Current Pollution Bill 143 that unanimously passed its second reading in the Ontario Legislative Assembly. This lead to amendments to the Distribution System Code introduced by the Ontario Energy Board to help mitigate ground current problems in rural Ontario.
Lectures, Expert Testimony, Science Advisor
She has given in excess of 360 presentations in more than 30 countries and at more than 24 universities/colleges on her research. Many of these presentations are at medical and environmental conferences. She also is invited to talk to public interests groups in North America and Europe. Dr. Havas provides expert testimony on the health effects of electromagnetic pollution as they relate to occupational exposure, high voltage transmission lines, magnetic fields, and both cell phone and broadcast antennas.
Dr. Havas has been an advisor to several public interest groups and educational groups concerned with the health of the environment. She is currently science advisor on EMF-related issues to several non-profit organizations including: The Canadian Initiative to Stop Wireless Electric and Electromagnetic Pollution (WEEPInitiative); the Council on Wireless Technology Impacts (CWTI) and the EMR Policy Institute (EMRPI) in the US; HESE and the EM Radiation Research Trust (EMRRT) in the UK; International Commission for Electromagnetic Safety (ICEMS) in the EU; and the National Platform Stralingsrisicos (NPS) in the Netherlands, to name a few.
Publications
Dr. Havas wrote, with Camilla Rees, Public Health SOS: The Shadow Side of the Wireless Revolution and has co-edited three books and has more than 180 publications that range from peer-reviewed scientific research to chapters in books to open letters and publications in the popular media.
Resent Publications include: •Healing with Light; Electromagnetic Hygiene; • Carcinogen effects of Non-Ionizing Radiation: A Paradigm Shift; •When Theory and Observation Collide: Can non-ionizing radiation cause cancer?; •The Role of Electromagnetic Pollution in Cancer Promotion; •Dirty Electricity, Radiofrequency Radiation, Flicker, and Spectral Quality generated by Different types of Energy Efficient Lighting; •Case Study: Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy Relieves Pleural Effusion Following Open Heart Surgery Pilot Study: •Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMFT) Alleviates Symptoms of Osteoarthritis; •The Role of Electrosmog and Electrotherapy in Diagnosing and Treating Diabetics with Electrical Hypersensitivity; •Effects of Wi-Fi Radiation on Germination and Growth of Broccoli, Pea, Red Clover and Garden Cress Seedlings: A Partial Replication Study; •Monitoring and remediation of on-farm and off-farm ground current measured as step potential on a Wisconsin dairy farm: A case study; •Dirty Electricity within the Intermediate Frequency Range (IF) may be the Missing Link explaining the increase in Chronic Illness.

Dr. Benjamin Snider ND - Functional Medicine Uptown
Dr. Benjamin Snider Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, Functional Medicine Practitioner
Functional Medicine is Wellness Redesigned. Our mission is to help individuals with complex medical conditions, break free of this paradigm where illness is simply managed by medication and a band aid solution. Our Services & Modalities
Functional medicine and naturopathic doctors, lifestyle and health coaches, nutritionist, acupuncturist , osteopathic and massage therapist along with several state of the art modalities designed to help you on your healing journey.
About Dr. Ben
As a naturopathic doctor, Dr. Snider has a strong passion for a new and evolving field called personalized medicine. Personalized medicine is a field that takes into account the whole person – including health measurements from genetic testing and functional lab diagnostics, as well as a thorough health history and physical exam. From this information a truly personalized protocol is developed which addresses the cause of the condition, not only the symptom.
The world of medicine is transforming and we are entering a new frontier where it is now possible to search within your DNA to determine what exercise is most beneficial for your muscle type, what foods are most healing for you, and what form of vitamin is best.
With this new information healthcare providers have discovered the power of genetic testing as a diagnostic tool, one that can illuminate a previously unknown factor involved in a disease. With this information Dr. Snider’s advice can extend beyond the blanket statement like “eat more vegetables” and be tailored to the specific needs of each individual. One person may be told that she needs more raw leafy green vegetables due to the MTHFR variation and another person may be told to eat more broccoli in order to up regulate a detox enzyme called GSTM1 for improved liver function and hormone balance.
Dr. Ben runs an eclectic family practice that utilizes IV vitamin therapy, diet therapy, food sensitivity testing, lifestyle counseling, applied kinesiology, vitamins and minerals, detoxification, bioregulatory medicine, meditation, and different forms of body work to help bring the body back into balance. He sees a wide range of health concerns but specializes in chronic pain, chronic infections, skin conditions, allergies, cancer, anxiety/depression, digestive imbalances, hormone health, and chronic fatigue.
He addresses the underlying causes of disease, using a systems-oriented approach by engaging the patient in a therapeutic partnership. By shifting the traditional disease-centered focus of medical practice to a more patient-centered approach, Dr. Ben addresses the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms.
Dr. Ben spends time with his patients, listening to their histories and looking at the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and chronic disease. In this way, he supports the unique expression of health and vitality for each individual.
The mission of the therapeutic relationship is to create self reliant practices with each patient so they can stand fully empowered in their own healing potential. From this the patient can see the purpose behind the health concern and escape the confinement of feeling victim to their illness and understand that they have the power to create the changes they desire.
Dr. Snider has been featured on the television show Cosmetic Innovations, in Weight Watchers magazine, and is a frequent contributor to everydayhealth.com, an online health and wellness magazine.Education
Dr. Benjamin Snider is a board certified, licensed Naturopathic Doctor with the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy – Naturopathy (BDDT-N). He is a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND), the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND), and the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians (OncANP).
Dr. Snider completed his four-year naturopathic medical education at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto, one of two fully CNME (http://www.cnme.org/) accredited Naturopathic college in Canada. Other education includes a Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo.Website: Dr. Ben.

Dr. Sharon Goldberg MD - Integrative and Functional Medicine
Integrative+ Functional Medicine
Your symptoms and your story are uniquely yours. Choosing to work with an integrative doctor means entering into a partnership with someone who gets to know your story and not just your lab results, imaging and diagnoses. The integrative approach prompts you to look at your symptoms from a different angle and challenges you to make life changes that can direct you on a healing path.
Whether you haven’t seen a doctor in 20 years, or you’ve seen every subspecialist in the phone book, Integrative Medicine is a personalized approach to your health challenges.
Dr. Sharon Goldberg MD
The Power of Symptoms
At the initial visit, Dr. Goldberg will record your symptoms and story on a timeline. Understanding the order in which symptoms and major life events unfolded is an important part of an Integrative/Functional evaluation. Symptoms are your body’s early warning system, directing you to examine areas of your life and lifestyle needing attention. Symptoms are signposts directing us towards root causes of imbalance. With the busy and over-scheduled lives many of us live nowadays, it is easy to overlook these early warning signs of imbalance. Use of caffeine, over the counter medications, and/or prescription medication can suppress symptoms, but will not fix the underlying underlying problem. People often live with disregarded warning signs for decades, without realizing that small adjustments in diet, lifestyle, sleep, orodental health and environment can lead to a huge shift in well being and vitality.
About Dr. Sharon Goldberg MD
She has practiced medicine since 2000. Initially, she spent over a decade working in acute care Internal Medicine in New York City and then Miami. During this period she had the honor of helping clinically train hundreds of medical students and residents while working as a Hospital Medicine Physician. As the years passed, younger and younger people were being admitted to the Internal Medicine wards with diagnoses that had previously been seen in mostly older patients. Genes do not change over a period of 15 years, and this got her interested in nutritional and environmental influences of disease, Integrative Medicine and clinical research. In 2015 she started an Integrative/Functional practice in Bay Harbor Islands, FL. Several years later, she moved to Santa Fe, NM, where her current practice in Integrative Medicine is located.
Dr. Sharon Goldberg evaluates and cares for complex patients, and she is able to apply the tools/testing to consider personalized lifestyle, nutrition and environmental factors (chemical toxins, mold, electromagnetic fields) as part of diagnosis and treatment. Integrative Medicine offers the best of both conventional medicine as well as “complementary” therapies that are safe and effective.

Dr. Wally Taylor, MD - Texas Integrative Medicine
Integrative, Functional Medicine Doctor
Dr. Taylor focuses on the role that environmental toxicants play in causing chronic complex illness symptoms like chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, autoimmune disease, mood disorders, brain fog, and hormonal disorders.
About Dr. Taylor
Let us help identify and correct the root causes
of your persistent roadblocks to great health and longevity.
More than twenty years ago Dr. Taylor began a gradual migration from the practice of standard Western medicine to a more integrated or blended approach combining “traditional” with more “functional” or “holistic” care. For him this was a result of the frustrating realization that he had not been given the “tools” in traditional Western Medical training to help many of his chronically ill patients achieve real wellness. Dr. Taylor learned that most illness of a chronic or long-standing nature was the result of the interplay of a patient’s genetic makeup with the sum total of harmful environmental stresses to which that patient has been exposed during life. Today after much additional education and experience helping hundreds of children and adults, Dr. Taylor has learned how to utilize the body’s own natural capacity for healing and regeneration through the use of both natural and traditional measures.
Having treated these disorders largely with “standard” or “accepted” medical treatments for 35 years he is well versed in the accepted approaches using published treatment guidelines. In some cases these have merit and he still may use them. Unfortunately many patients that seek Dr. Taylor’s care are continuing to experience health problems and symptoms despite exhaustive care using “standard treatment guidelines” of “traditional medicine”. Some folks just wish to incorporate integrative/nonstandard therapies in order to maintain wellness and avoid disease.
Core Values
Dr. Taylor believes that it is very important to approach treatment of disease from a value approach. He knows that medical care these days is expensive and that it is important to balance the need to know patient lab information with the costs involved. He only orders tests that he believes will lead him to modify his recommendations and treatment. It is very important to Dr. Taylor for the patients that come to him for care to be treated with respect and dignity.
Specialty Focus
Dr. Taylor focuses on the role that environmental toxicants (man-made chemicals, electromagnetic radiation, toxic effects of persistent infections) play in causing chronic complex illness symptoms like chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, autoimmune disease, mood disorders, brain fog, and hormonal disorders. He has received hours of education from the American Academy of Environmental Medicine, the Institute of Functional Medicine, the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, and the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society. He has completed training from ILADS required by the Texas Medical Board to qualify as a practitioner trained in the treatment of tick-borne illnesses including Lyme Borreliosis and coinfections.
History / Background
Dr. Taylor grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas where he graduated from King High School. He was an Eagle Scout and his favorite subjects were Chemistry and Biology. He then attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with Highest Honors in Zoology. He was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa honor fraternity while a student at UT. After University Dr. Taylor attended Medical School at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and received his MD degree while on scholarship from the United States Army. While in Medical School he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor fraternity. After Med School Dr. Taylor completed his Residency in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery and Allergy at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. His training included two years of general medical training in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine. He then spent a twenty year career in the Army Medical Corps including a tour of duty for Operation Desert Storm where he encountered soldiers suffering from Gulf War Syndrome. For twenty years Dr. Taylor practiced general ENT and Allergy with a multispecialty group in Southern Colorado where he served as President of the San Luis Valley Medical Professional Corporation. While in Colorado he began studies which led to his present practice of Integrative Medicine where he combines traditional medicine with a functional and holistic systems biology approach to chronic illness.Website: www.texasintegrative.com

Dr. Deborah Warner, Ph.D - Clinical Solutions International
Our Services
Clinic Solutions offers a 4-part evaluation for DNA cellular stress and epigenetics to decode illness and disease. Cellular stress is defined as cells that are not completely healthy - cells stressed from environmental toxins, nutritional deficiencies, bacteria, viruses and/or other infective agents. We test for thousands of different substances. Following the evaluation of your DNA, recommendations are made to assist in bringing your cells to a healthier state.
Clinic Solutions uses past and present research and experience to bring forth a healthy cellular state in the body. Our goal is healthy outcomes. At Clinic Solutions we decode DNA to help detect, prevent and/or correct disease. We provide education and offer recommendations to our clients, their families and to their physicians on how they can possibly stabilize and maintain their cellular health when it has become stressed. Healthy mitochondria is a key to healthy aging. Clinic Solutions assists people with options for their health by using a unique type of Cellular Stress Assessment utilizing DNA specimens. (See Services for more information.)
After initial assessment, the focus is put upon specialized cellular nutritional equations that are customized for each client. Some of the equations include microdilutions of certain substances found in the DNA for particular types of cellular stress from toxic or undesired exposure. Nutritional formulas and occasional herbal-focused recommendations may be offered as well as customized homeopathics.
Deborah Warner, Ph.D., is the primary researcher for Clinic Solutions and excels with Nutritional Science. Her past work experience includes research and custom solutions for adults and children with breast and other cancers, autoimmune disorders, Cystic Fibrosis, Fibromyalgia, vaccine toxicities, Autism, gastrointestinal disorders, food allergies, Hepatitis, Simian Virus (SV40 and SV5), Herpes Viruses and Human Papillomaviruses (HPV), Lyme Disease and coinfections, mitochondrial diseases and numerous genetic mutations. Other organisms in some of the accomplished research include fungus/yeast and parasites. Environmental pollutants, nutritional deficiencies and genetic mutations can create stress on the cells as well.
After evaluating the individual's DNA for environmental stressors and other specifics creating cellular stress, Dr. Warner utilizes both epigenetics and nutrigenomic methods to correct the cells. She is constantly striving to achieve healthy outcomes at a cellular level and has been successful in "cracking the code" or decoding many diseases. Tests for gene-specific and chromosome mutations are performed and evaluated. Utilizing precise measurements of medicinal nutrients, emphasizing protein-specific, Dr. Warner works to change improper genetic cell signaling by guiding other proteins in the DNA to their correct location.
Dr. Warner formulated and patented a nutrigenomic protein substance a/k/a "modified amino acid" which guides other proteins to their correct location in the cells and helps them to maintain proper configuration. Improperly folded proteins have been implicated in a variety of diseases such as cancer and Alzheimer's. This has been a major focus for Clinic Solutions' outcomes studies. Many people have benefited from our "modified amino acid" and the recommended individualized genetic solutions.
Dr. Warner heads the private research at Clinic Solutions and utilizes epigenetics and nutrigenomics to derive recommendations for each individual tested. Mitochondrial analysis from DNA is performed and cellular stress is evaluated.
Our goals again are for healthy outcomes. The testing can direct you toward the proper nutritional substances to assist the body in recovery from what we refer to as "the straw that broke the camel's back." The meaning of this is that although a person may have more than one offending agent in their cells, how many does it take until you start feeling the ill effects or possibly have a shocking diagnosis?
We urge individuals, families and physicians to take advantage of our revolutionary testing. Dr. Warner's philosophy is that most of the population wants to be healthy, stay healthy and keep their families healthy. That is why people vaccinate. Also this is why many choose to have our testing done for themselves and their families to so that they can become knowable about their own DNA and initiate preventative measures.PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Dr. Bradford Weeks MD - WeeksMD
About - Who is Dr. Weeks?
Dr. Bradford S. Weeks, M.D. is 65 years old and has been caring for patients for more than 40 years. He completed undergraduate studies at Dartmouth College (major: Political Philosophy) then, prior to medical school training at the University of Vermont, Dr. Weeks worked in the Harvard system doing two years of research at Massachusetts General Hospital’s mineral metabolism unit working on osteoporosis (calcium, magnesium and vitamin D). In addition, he studied nutrition (including macrobiotics with Mishio Kushi in Brookline, MA), acupuncture, massage (shiatsu), music therapy (Tomatis method, power of chant), Anthroposophical medicine and classical homeopathy. Medical school at the University of Vermont was followed by medical internship (1 year) and psychiatry/neurology residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (3 years). He is a specialist in psychiatry and developed the field of “corrective medicine and psychiatry”.
Who does Dr. Weeks treat?
Dr. Weeks treats all people with all health challenges because he treat the patient and not the disease. In this manner, he follows the sage advice of William Osler, MD. (1849-1919) well known as the father of modern medicine who taught generations of doctors “The good doctor treats the illness, but the great doctor treats the patient.” This strategy is in line with the ancient wisdom of it being better to teach a man to fish thereby empowering him rather than to simply give a man a fish…. enabling him. Dr Weeks reminds you that you and your loved ones are “fearfully and wonderfully made” and that health is your inherent predisposition. Accordingly, Dr. Weeks helps you accomplish the 4 Essential Steps to retaining or regaining optimal health: detoxify, replenish, shut down chronic inflammation and then change your oil. Computer programers know the truism of “Garbage in gives you garbage out.” So, if you are ready to empower your body and immune system to heal, we can guide you safely towards your optimal health.
Protocol Paradigm
Dr. Weeks loves music and thinks of health in terms of musical metaphor – playing a musical instrument. In order to play an instrument well (to be healthy) one needs four factors 1) a well-built and well-maintained instrument, 2) a tuned instrument, 3) someone who loves playing the instrument and someone who has composed or can create de novo (improvise) a musical piece. Those four factors represent, respectively, 1) the physical body (the instrument), 2) the vibrational or etheric body (being tuned), 3) the soul’s delight in life (the joy of the musician) and 4) the birthright of all humans to participate in the spiritual act of creation of their life (the composer). For this reason, all protocol recommendations from Dr. Weeks are designed to correct imbalances in: 1) your biochemistry (physical body), 2) your vitality (energetic, vibrational, etheric body or “chi”), 3) your emotional being (the soul) and 4) your self-esteem (your spirit). Dr. Weeks believes that all four of these “bodies” interweave and affect each other constantly. That said, he also believes that the predominant process is a trickle-down effect meaning that your spirit (thoughts, values and attitudes) affects your soul (feeling, attachments, urges) which in turn affects your vitality (sleep processes, growth and regeneration forces, stamina) which finally affects your physical body (substance and biochemical matter). Therefore, at the Weeks Clinic, we pay particular attention to the spirit since we consider that to be the best target for correcting illnesses or states of “dis-sease”. Therefore, you will note that each health challenge which we compose for you as described in your Corrective Protocol handout has four categories of intervention in order to strive for balance and integration of your four “bodies”. Those interventions include dietary changes, nutritional supplements and medicines for the physical body, energetic or vibrational homeopathic remedies for the etheric or energy body, exercises to develop will forces and the ability to visualize for soul strengthening and meditative or mastery of thought behavior for the spirit. Furthermore, Dr. Weeks does not see health as a goal sufficient unto itself, but rather as a means toward an end. He hopes you will wonder about what changes you will make in your life once you are healthier.
Dr. Rudolf Steiner, father of Anthroposophy taught that we learn in two manners – we learn through thinking about our experiences (e.g. “that burns, I won’t touch that again”) and, on a deeper level, that which we can’t learn through thinking, we learn through suffering. This is the path of compassion or heart-warmed thinking. In this second realm of learning, illness often serves as our best teacher. In that sense, we are well advised to seek the gift within the pain in order to harvest the fruits of out illnesses (see Dr. L.F.C. Mees’ book “Blessed By Illness”). Steiner, who also created the Waldorf School system (“Education towards Freedom”), would also agree that the goal of the doctor is to help people grow towards freedom. Why is that? Perhaps we might all agree that the most important goal of human beings is to love one another. Love, we all know, cannot be coerced or forced in any manner. Therefore, if love is to exist, it must be given freely. Dr. Weeks has witnessed many incidences of illness teaching people to love – be it the cancer patient who acknowledged that only when he faced death did he finally learn to express his love for his children, or the woman who only was able to lovingly forgive whole-heartedly when she faced her health challenges. It is so common as to be cliche – illness often brings out the best in us. So, to the degree that illnesses help us focus on our imbalances or self-destructive patterns and offers to make better lovers of us all, the doctor is well-advised to not miss the opportunity to use the illness to enhance the entire well-being of the patient on the four levels discussed above.
Treatment Methods:
Although he is licensed as an M.D. to prescribe all life-saving medicines, Dr. Weeks does this in the context of Corrective Medicine and Psychiatry whereby attention is paid from the start to correcting imbalances. Once the causative factors (toxicities or deficiencies of naturally occurring biochemical substances or life style habits) are identified and addressed, then typically the synthetic drugs which had been essential for minimizing symptoms or maintaining life become somewhat redundant. Consider this example: if you tell the average doctor that you feel a pain in your buttocks every time you sit in your chair, he or she will immediately start considering which type of pain medication is appropriate. In contrast, a Corrective Health doctor will check to see if there is a tack in your chair! Why take addictive pain meds when by correcting the problem (removing the tack), you can be medication-free? Or imagine driving to work and having car problems such that you drift to stop at the side of the road. Well, you might have AAA membership which includes towing services so you could call and ask to be towed to your appointment. And once that appointment was over, you could negotiate and hire the tow truck driver to tow you to your next appointment and if you were really stupid or excessively rich, you could even hire the tow truck to tow you home that night and then, the following day you could pay to have him tow you to all you appointments. What happens if this behavior continues? Well, you would get to your appointments – no argument there – but your rear tires would wear out, you would forget how to drive and ultimately, you would spend millions being towed needlessly since when your car originally failed, a simple check of 1) gas, 2) oil, 3) spark plugs, 4) radiator water, etc. would have allowed you to identify and correct the problem and made the hassle and expense of hiring a tow truck “redundant”. In that sense, since it is impossible to have a deficiency of a synthetic substance (that about that assertion!!!), why rely upon ingesting something which is not actually necessary in the long run if instead, you can correct the natural imbalance?
Treatment Philosophy:
A relationship with Dr. Weeks involves not only a commitment to offering his best medical advice and care, but equally his effort to teach patients about health care principles and disease prevention. In this way, patients become empowered with regards to their health. The word “doctor” is derived from the Latin word “ducere” which means “to lead” or “to teach”. Dr. Weeks considers teaching principles of health to be a fundamental aspect of health care.
Description of Treatment Options
CORRECTIVE MEDICINE AND PSYCHIATRY: Corrective medicine and psychiatry involves the collaborative experience of listening with, educating and advising patients about how to correct imbalances in their four realms of life: their physical bodies, their vitality, their emotional life and their spiritual path. This encompasses education and counseling concerning the lifestyle “NET” (Nutrition, Exercise and Thought – see this illustrated as the Weeks Health Pyramid with Lifestyle as the foundation, Supplements as the next step, Medications only when supplements are inadequate and, of course, when required, Hospitalization or Surgeries when medications don’t suffice.)
NUTRITIONAL BIOCHEMISTRY: This is the process of identifying deficiencies or excesses (toxic) in the body’s own biochemical workings and then either supplementing what you are low in or, on the other hand, detoxifying what have too much of. Enzymes, amino acids, minerals, essential fatty acids (oils) and vitamins so overlooked by conventional medicine are essential to health. (Even their name: “essential nutrients” cries out for attention!) If you buy a new sports car, you will spend $50,000 of which half might be the engine cost and half the chassis and marketing expense. But if you forget to buy a simple quart of oil ($1.89) the engine will seize up and be irreparably destroyed within 10 miles… never to run again! Don’t forget to “change your oil” and supplement or detoxify as necessary for optimal health.
ORTHOMOLECULAR MEDICINE: A big word meaning “same molecule”. The point is to identify which molecules (enzymes, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, hormones) you are short on (deficiency syndromes) or long on (toxic syndromes). We then simply re-balance you by using supplements to make up for deficiencies and/or detoxification techniques to get rid of excesses. However, the key point is to accomplish this using natural molecules which occur in your body (i.e. ortho-molecular) not foreign, unnatural molecules (allopathic) which are designed and patented not for health and bio-compatibility but for profit. (Remember, you can’t patent a naturally occurring substance but you can alter it “significantly” and then patent it. These alterations are often toxic).
ANTHROPOSOPHICAL MEDICINE: This is a fertile, world-wide system of healing derived from the research of Dr. Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) involving mineral, plant and animal substances prepared in a manner that, by featuring the forces inherent in these substances, offers potent, non-toxic remedies. These remedies are offered in the context of mind/body health work and a spiritual perspective which strives to see health challenges as important lessons.
APITHERAPY: Dr. Weeks is a world-renown expert and pioneer on the subject of medicinal uses of the honeybee products and lectures around the world on this topic. The therapeutic qualities of bee venom, bee pollen, raw honey, propolis and royal jelly are increasingly featured in the media and have a long and impressive folk-medicine tradition supported by a well-documented scientific foundation.
CORRECTIVE CANCER CARE (CCC) WITH INSULIN POTENTIATION THERAPY (IPT): This is an integrated approach which includes the brilliant biochemical technique IPT which has been continuously used in North America since the 1930s which involves enhanced “killing effects” from anti-biotics, anti-parasite drugs and chemotherapy resulting in targeted benefits with less “side-effects”. It can be very useful in the treatment of all cancers as well as many infectious diseases (viral, bacterial, parasites, spirochetes, retroviral). Being experimental (despite being used since the 1930”²s!) it is only offered as non-standard care to patients who have considered and freely refused standard options like conventional chemotherapy, radiation or surgery. Trained by Dr. Steven Ayre with Dr. Donato Perez-Garcia in 2002, Dr. Weeks is the only certified instructor in IPT in Washington State.
CORRECTIVE PSYCHIATRIC SERVICES: Many people labor under the stigma of a psychiatric diagnosis which is undeserved and misapplied. In the cases of “psychiatric illnesses” ADD, psychosis, schizophrenia, manic depression, addictions (including illicit drugs, alcohol and nicotine) Frequently, physical causes are overlooked because careful biochemical detective work was not performed. Dr. Weeks is specially trained in identifying those people who are inadequately diagnosed with a mental illness and helps them to re-attain normal function. For this reason, even if you come for psycho-therapy or counseling, Dr. Weeks offers a physical examination and nutritional work-up to rule out an organic or physical cause. Better to fix that biochemical dis-ease than to spend years “on the couch” having not addressed this aspect of your health. For those folks who struggle with psychiatric illnesses, Dr. Weeks uses his training as a psychiatrist to monitor their need for anti-psychotic, anti-anxiety or anti-depressant medications. At the same time, however, he offers corrective protocols which frequently lessen the need (dose and/or frequency) for debilitating psychiatric medications.
CORRECTIVE ADDICTION MEDICINE: By replenishing nutritional deficiencies using non-allergenic diet plans and by stabilizing otherwise debilitating blood sugar fluctuation via teaching about low glycemic index foods, we help decrease the biochemical urgency of addictions. Another cornerstone of corrective addiction medicine is rehydration whereby addictive substances clear the body gradually rather than abruptly. This too helps extinguish addictive cravings. Finally we use a variety of corrective agents such as Suboxone (for opiates), Baclofen (for alcohol), high dose oral vitamin C (for heroin) GABA (for benzodiazepine drugs) and electronic cigarettes (for nicotine).
CORRECTIVE FAT-LOSS PROTOCOLS: Most obese patients are overfed and undernourished. They are hungry because they are starving. Many difficulties occur when people fail to digest and absorb foods. Factors to assess and correct include: dysbiosis, food allergies, Candida Albicans over-growth, hypochlorhydria and sleep disorders (you heard me: yes, it is true! – we lose weight in our sleep and failure to sleep well increases night time cortisol (which is a stress hormone and a storage hormone) which makes us fat).
CORRECTIVE HORMONAL THERAPY: As we humans age, we all produce and secrete less hormones and begin what I term “regression to the mean”. Men lose male hormones and women lose female hormones. In fact, an overweight 60 year old man typically has higher estrogen levels than his 60 year old wife! Aging men lose muscle tone and develop “man-boobs” while aging women get more hair on their chinny chin chins and lose their “juice”. Regression to the mean! Corrective Hormonal Care includes Real Hormonal Therapy (RHT) which utilizes “hormone healthy”diet plans, blood sugar stabilization, stress reduction and laboratory testing before replacement at safe levels of natural, bio-identical hormones such as melatonin – natural estrogens – progesterone – testosterone – DHEA – pregnenolone – vitamin D3.

Medical Licensure:
Washington State Note: Dr. Weeks’ license was suspended in 2013 but after seven years of legal battles, Dr. Weeks prevailed in court and the judge found that the WA state medical board was found to have acted “arbitrarily and capriciously” by their de facto revocation and he ordered that Dr. Weeks’ license be “reinstated immediately” in 2020. Thousands of patients and their families celebrated this victory. More information about this travesty of justice is available upon request.Website: www.weeksmd.com
